Introducing Fresita!

WHAT do you get when you mix: premium white wine from Chile + fresh Strawberries from Patagonia + magical bubbles? If you guessed “strawberry sin”, “heaven” or something really really good in-between, you would be close. As it turns out, this is the recipe for a dangerously delicious, fun and fruity sparkling wine called Fresita!
Fresita is 97% rosé sparkling wine made from a blend of several grape varieties, and 3% hand-picked strawberries from Patagonia. The fresh, intensely flavourful strawberries are added during the bottling process, to produce a lively, fruity, all-natural sparkling wine with a touch of strawberry sweetness at only 8% alcohol. This makes it very easy to finish an entire 750ml bottle, in one sitting, without any help! Not that I have ever done that before. Really.
Apart from being light, crisp, refreshing and full of strawberry lusciousness, perhaps the best thing about Fresita is that you really don’t need an excuse or a special occasion to enjoy it. Toast with it on New Year’s Eve, or share a bottle with friends on any given day at the beach; have a glass or two while relaxing after work, or take it to a friend’s house for a birthday party; you can even experiment with it in cocktails!
Fresita is a treat that is meant to be enjoyed whenever and wherever the mood strikes you. Pick up a bottle this weekend from Driftwood or Horsford’s Valu Mart. It’s also a great gift idea for your sweetie on Valentine’s Day!
Serve well-chilled, and enjoy!
